Favourite Quotes | The Fault In Our Stars
Quotes
Well today I want to share my favourite quote from The Fault In Our Stars by John Green.
If you're not living on the moon you probably heard of the book and that the movie is coming out in a couple of months :)

Favourite In-Shower and After-Shower Products
In-Shower/After-Shower-Products (left to right)
This post is all about skincare. I use this 3 products all the time in the shower and as I haven't gone really into skincare I thought I give it a try. First of all the bottles are written in German if you wondering, what language that might be :)Wednesday, 5 February 2014
Nivea Body Lotion Hydratation Review
My daily after-shower moisturizer
Today I want to share with you a product that I've been using a lot lately and it gained a special place in my daily skin care routine. My mother actually bought this body lotion quite a while ago and as my mother wasn't using it, I thought that I should give it a try.Friday, 10 January 2014
My Beauty Wish List 2014
Now, I am a massive list lover (mainly wishlists) :). I do them a lot, specially for organization. So with that said, I want to share with you my beauty wishlist for 2014 with all the products I want to try this year.
1. Essie Nail Polish - Grey Nail Polish Collection - Chinchilly | Link
Last year I bought my first Essie Nail Polish and I loved it. While searching on the internet I found a review of this nail polish and it's definitely a really pretty shade I want to get this year.
2. Smashbox 'Photo Finish' Foundation Primer | Link
I've probably read about 20 reviews on this primer before even think to buy it. I still don't own a primer for my combination skin. If you have a suggestion for a good primer, just let me know.

Best Beauty Buys 2013
Hello Beauties! I hope you're doing well. We're already in 2014 - I'm still asking myself how that happend- As I didn't post a 'December Favourites' last year (yeah I can say now last year^^) I think why not take this opportunity and share with you some of my best buys I did 2013.
BOI-ING Concealer - Benefit
I've tried the Boi-ing concealer as a part of the "How to look the best at everything" box. It comes in two shades; a lighter and a darker one. It is a very neutral colour which blends easily with my foundation. As I suffered from acne-prone skin and last year I had a lot of breakouts, this concealer was my holy-grail all year through.
How to Look The Best At Everything Kit - Benefit
My first ever review was about this little cute kit back in April last year. I wanted to try Benefit so bad but of course I couldn't buy all the products, because I wouldn't know if I really liked the products or if it would be a total waste of money. That's why I bought probably one of the cutest makeup kits ever. I'm so happy with my choice because I came across some of my favourite products ever. If you want to know more about the whole kit I leave you my review of it here.
The Porefessional - Benefit
Probably one of the best primers ever?! I think so. I'm still on my little sample of my Kit but somehow this product lasts me a very long time. It feels very silky smooth and it makes my skin look flawless.
Origins Clear Improvement Mask
I'm using this product since November I think and have to say that I love it. It's the perfect mask for my oily skin. It gives my skin a DEEP but very gentle clean. And the best part is there is no strange smell. Although it is quite expensive I haven't found a cheaper one that is comparable.
MAC #217 - Blending Brush
This blending brush is a WONDERFUL brush! Probably my best beauty investment 2013. Before using this brush I used one with black bristles. What I love about the #217 is that it is white so I can see the shadow colours I'm using. In every review I've read (and I did read a lot because it's an investment) it said that it's the must have brush in every kit. And I totally relate to that too!
Naked Basics - Urban Decay
My Go- To palette through 2013. I use it everyday and it's clearly a basic! Even though there aren't a lot of colors I still create a variety of looks. The shadows are very pigmented, they blend very easily too. Definitely a big love through 2013!
Well these are my best beauty buys that were definitely worth the money! And I also want to add to this list even though they aren't in any way beauty related: my RANDOM Favourites of 2013!
Teen Wolf
I discovered this series last year and I think it's amazing! There is something dark, misterious and edgy about the show that I really like. Uhh and I'm so excited for the next season *jump with joy* :)
Bastille
Well my love for the band Bastille isn't from last year. My love for their music just deepend I think. Their albums were in repeat all year long and now they are gaining more and more popularity which isn't a bad thing don't you think?
I would love to know what your favourite beauty products were! Lots of Love, Catherine <3

NEW YEARS EVE!
What is a post without a photo? - Not for me, so I just added a photo I took a while ago of shells although it doesn't relate too much to the topic, I look at it as many little and big dreams that can come true in 2014.Friday, 6 December 2013

MAC Eye Shadow Brun(Satin) - Review and Swatch!
Brun oh brun, where do I begin? I can't live without it. This MAC eye shadow is such a pretty versatile color I recommend to everyone! I bought this shade a while ago. I even mentioned in one of my beauty hauls (here is the link if you want to have a look).
I was looking for a color without shimmer I could use on my brows and this is perfect for me as I have dark brown nearly black hair.
The color is a dark cool toned ashy brown. It's not the typical dark brown shade but like a said really versatile. The consistency is pretty smooth and with its satin texture it also blends well with other colors.
Like I said it's a very versatile color. I mainly use it to fill in my dark eyebrows but also to deepen my crease, as a lid color, all over my lid( for a brown smokey eye) and as well as a liner. I would recommend to build up the color as I think it gets a better effect. The color looks exactly like in the pan so you won't have unpleasant surprise!
Like every other MAC eye shadow it will stay on all day with an eye primer underneath.
If you are looking for a deep brown eye shadow or you're not sure on which one to chose for neutrals, I'll definitely say to get this shade!
I'm looking for some new MAC eye shadows to add to my collection. What do you think should I get? Much Love, Catherine <3

Season's Greetings
This evening is the last evening in November. For me it means - the last evening being 15 years old. I'm finally turning 16 tomorrow! Yay :) So December has come around so quickly that honestly it feels like it's only the beginning of autumn.
I'm in a festive mood since mid of November and I am really, really excited for Christmas! :)
Here in Switzerland it already started to snow so that's even a reason more to be in a holiday spirit! Don't you think?
I have some post coming up soon which I am really excited about! And I'm also in a posting spirit that means I'm hopefully posting more in December :)
If I would ask 100 people to name something associated to Switzerland one of the top answers I think would be cheese. Am I right? :) But it could have been chocolate, or watches, or alps or Heidi. What would you answer?
I took this picture about ten minutes after it started to snow last week :) xx

NOTD / Maybelline Color Show in Vintage Leather
Hello lovely ladies! A couple of days ago I felt like I needed some new fall appropriate nail polishes. This is one of the three nail polishes I bought. I already owned a few nail polishes from the Color Show Line from Maybelline and I absolutely love all of them so that's why I searched in the Maybelline Counter for a new nail polish. I picked this one up - and it's called Vintage Leather.
First I thought it would be like a really shiny dark grey shade, but after the application I realized that it's a matte shade! Nowhere it said that it would be a matte shade but I didn't thought about the name. Vintage Leather - obviously the finish would be kind of a leather texture. But I'm really happy with my decisions. I didn't own any matte shade so this is just perfect to add to my nail polish collection.
The polish itself is really nice. It applies very easy, it's not too thick and it dries out really quickly. I wasn't really happy with the first paint. But if you apply two coats it looks actually really nice.
After all I'm glad I picked up Vintage Leather and I'm looking forward to use it during fall and winter time! I definitely recommend it!
Have you ever tried a Color Show by Maybelline nail polish? What are your thoughts on matte nail polishes? xx

Garnier Anti-Dark-Circle Eye Roller
Hello lovely people! Today I want to introduce you to the Garnier - Roll-on Anti-Dark-Circle Eye Roller. I've talked about it on some Monthly Favourites and I thought it was time write about this lovely product!
What it should do:
Instantly roll away dark circles. Caffeine Gel + Rollerball energizes and stimulates microcirculation. Lemon Essence brightens. Tinted mineral pigments instantly corrects dark circles. In 1 week: eyes look bright. Is right for you if you want to instantly correct the appearance of dark circles and brighten the skin around your eyes!
All that sounds like this product does wonders to your eyes. And in my opinion in does.
Packaging/Application
The concealer comes in a huge 15ml container. What makes it easy to carry around in your bag. If you take of the closure head you can see a rollerball. The rollerball makes it really easy to apply this under your eyes from the inner corner to the outer corner. I roll it about one to two times. After that I like to blend it in by only using my fingers.Texture/Coverage/Colour
The consistency is quite thin and liquid so it adapts to my skin very well. The coverage is nice light and luminous so it's good for everyday use as it makes me look more awake. It is definitely yellow/oranged toned but I suppose because you need that to cancel the blue/purple veins that show through the skin around the eyes. I have the one in the shade 02 - fair
Price/Where to buy
It's available in every drugstore for about £11. You can purchased it in 4 different shades:
- very fair
- fair 02
- medium
- dark
What I think
All in one it's a great product that I highly recommend to every one whose dark circles show though the skin around the eyes. It gives a really nice light luminous coverage what is good for everyday use. It does fade a bit by end of the day but that's totally expected. I also love to use it in other areas on my face like around my nose(where I tend to get redness) and on my cheekbones.
the Round-Up
Pros:
- easy to use
- lightens the dark circles around your eyes
- doesn't settle into lines
- dark circles much less noticeable
Cons:
- should be blended by your fingers to get a natural looking coverage
- brightens more than conceals
I would love to know if you have dark circles and what products you use to conceal or brighten up the area around your eyes! Let me know! xx

September Favourites!
Hello people! I can't believe it's already October; this year is going so quickly (there are only 84 days until christmas YAY :) But seriously, where did the summer go? It feels like I was just getting in to that summer feeling(if you know what I mean), only to find the fall knocking at my door. Anyway I looove fall time and cozy sweaters, hot drinks and just seeing that the leaves change the colour... Is it just me?! Without further ado - my September favourites! :)
Ellite Paris Eye Liner in 01 Black Out
Ushuaia Déodorant 24h in Vanille de Polynésie
Yves Rocher Hand Cream in Vanilla/Lemon
Maybelline New York Baby Lips in Cherry Me
Dr. Fix - On your lips Care in Kiwi & Passion Fruit
I'm not quite a lover of eye liners but I came across this one and I was quite impressed. It stays really long and it really defines my eyes. I'm planning on doing a review later month.
The next product I've been using is this antiperspirant I got this from a friend who visited France earlier this year. This smells divine after vanilla. It doesn't really has a strong scent what I think is really good. If you want to try this out I found a shop who sends this world wide.
An absolutely must-have for me during fall/winter time is hand cream. My hands tend to get very dry so I always carry a hand cream with me. This one from Yves Rocher was released in the Christmas edition from 2012. This hand cream makes my hands incredible soft and the scent is very sweet that makes you feel cozy and festive.
Here it is: the much talked Baby Lips. I only own it for a few weeks because here in Switzerland they're released a bit late but I bought them anyway! I only have to say two things: scent is amazing and love that it leaves a bit of colour on your lips! Definitely worth the hype!
And last but not least Dr.Fix's On Your Lips. My friend bought me this lip balm while she was on holiday in Greece. I really like it but unfortunately I couldn't find a site where they buy it but I will keep an eye out for this and as soon as I find it I'll let you know. :)
What products have you been loving last month? Let me know! xx

What is your favourite season of the year and why? Let me know! Have a wonderful day :) xx

Would You Rather TAG - Beauty Edition
I recently was watching Tanja aka TanjaBurr's videos on Youtube and saw her do this cute Tag what seemed quite funny. I would love to do more Tag posts in the future so please let me know if you enjoyed this down below!
1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
I don't want to lose any of it! First I thought I would rather lose all of my palettes and eyeshadows because I couldn't live without mascara. But sooner I thought that I have to replace all my mascaras and eyeliners because they have a shorter shelf life than the most of my eyeshadows and palettes. So I would rather lose my mascaras, eyeliners and lipsticks!
2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
If I would chop off all of my hair it would grow again, but if I let it grow and never be able to cut it again it would be awful to treat my hair, only imagine the tangles my curly hair would get into. But on the other side, my hair grows really slowly so I would rather never be able to cut my hair again.
3. Would you rather have coral cheek or a pink cheek?
I prefer to use coral blushes and with a coral cheek you could use nearly every lipstick, so I would rather have a coral cheek!
4. If you have had $1,000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
Hard one! I love shopping clothes and makeup but probably I would spend all the money on makeup because I could buy all these high end brands that I normally don't use. :)
5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
It would depend on the texture of the lipstick. If I would use a matte deep-colored lipsticks it could probably work but a shiny one?! That would so smudge. I can imagine using eyeliner as lipstick but only if the eyeliner isn't black but a pretty pink, nude or bronze color!
6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
I have some really awesome products from MAC but I love to try out new products! In Sephora there were so many brands I could try out!
7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
I'm not really a lover of lipsticks or lipglosses and in my everyday I tend to use brown and bronze shades. I would have to say one eyeshadow color.
8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
I don't like being too hot because I get really fast sweaty so I would go with summer clothes in winter. I still could use cardigans and tights!
9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year around?
Bright nails! I have a quite big nail polish collection. But just a few polishes are dark. I gravitate toward the light or bright colors much more!
10. Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
My favorite lip products at the moment are the Labello Fruity Shine Pink Guava and the Revlon Lip Butters. The choice of my favorite lip products change all the time, because there are so many out there that I want to try, but most of the time I put the lip balm or the lip stick in my bag and I never see it again! Unfortunately I lost my lip products really fast :( So I would rather give up my favorite lip product.
11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
Whatever I do I can't do a messy bun. My hair is too curly or too long to put in a bun, all my hair ties broke immediately. So I would go with a ponytail!
12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
Like I said on the top, I don't like to use lip gloss. I hate it when the wind blows and all my hair sticks on my lips. But I really like to use the Juicy Tubes Mood from Lancôme, they are amazing! I would go with never use lip gloss again!
13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
This question tops everything. I can imagine me without eyebrows. That would definitely look weird. But sharpie them in everyday? Is there even a sharpie out there with the perfect size? I think it's better without eyebrows than sharpie them everyday but I can't really answer this question. I've searched on google some pictures of people without eyebrows and other people with sharpie ones and I just can say: Look good after your eyebrows people! :)
14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
I would rather live without nail polish because I'm more attached to my makeup but I have to say I also could live without makeup but who would want to! :)
So that's it! I answered the all the questions. I had really fun doing this and I would love to read your TAG. So if you did this TAG or any other I would love to hear about! Have a nice day. xx

Essence Longlasting Lipstick | Review and Swatches
Hello! So today I want to introduce you to one of my favourite lipsticks that I've been using in fall time A LOT - the Essence longlasting lipstick in the colour 04 on the Catwalk!
If I should describe this lipstick in one word I would say - AMAZING! This lipstick is one of the ten available colours of their new longlasting Lipstick collection. I bought this lipstick at the thought of using it during fall time.
Packaging
I'm sure you can see from the image above just how wonderful this lipstick is.
It comes in a pretty discreet black matte packaging with a thin line in the colour of lipstick all around. The label with the name is also in the same colour as the lipstick. If you turn the lipstick out you can see the well-known "E" stamped.
Formula/Texture
First I thought this lipstick would be really heavy as a colour. But applying it on my lips it covers my lips without looking too heavy and harsh. Sadly it doesn't stay very long about 2-3 hours on me, but I don't mind reapplying it. I would recommend using a lip liner in addition.
Colour
Like I said above - the lipstick is available in 9 other colours from a classic red to a pretty cotton candy colour. I picked up the 04 - On The Catwalk! which is a pretty dark red with a burgundy undertone. I wasn't expecting it to look so well on the lips because first I thought it would be a bit too dark. It was quite the contrary!
Price
I bought this lipstick for CHF 3.37 here in Switzerland what is really cheap I think for such a pretty lipstick.
I did a bit of research about where you can buy Essence Makeup and find out that Essence just launched in the UK. From this month Essence Makeup will be available in several Wilkinson stores!
What I think
This is a really good, definitely not pricey drugstore lipstick which I recommend to everyone. I'm looking forward to buy other colour from their Essence Longlasting Lipstick Collection.
The Round-Up
Pros:
- The subtle red and burgundy undertones with addition to dullness makes it more wearable dark red lipstick
- It's great for every day use.
- not pricey at all
Cons:
- The lasting power is quite short - it doesn't last longer than a couple of hours ( I recommend use a lip liner before applying the lipstick.
Have you tried a Essence lipstick? What do you think? What is your favourite lipstick for fall? Let me know!

Fresh New Start
Friends,
I hope you started well in the month of September. I think this year went by so fast and I can still not believe that fall is just around the corner.
![]() |
| lovely sunrise in the morning - took this while biking to school :) |
Take photos - research - write post - publish. And I did this two or three times a week and didn't feel stressed or something like that. And now as I started school I have lots of things to do. That's not an excuse to not blog. The last few weeks I had kind of a blogger's break.
I sat down but nothing came - I couldn't write.
But know I'm here - writing this post that was flowing in my head for quite a while now and that I decided to write now. I'm trying to post once or twice week in the next time. Reviews, photographs, OOTD's, DIY's or even just talk to you (what I really enjoy :D). What would you like to read?
But for now a huge THANK YOU for the friends you have been and letting me be in that Blogging Community!

Makeup and Skin Care August Favourites
Hello darlings, I wish you all a peaceful sunday. I can not belive that it's already September. Summer got by so fast that we're nearly in fall. Actually fall is one of my favourite seasons of the year so I'm pretty excited to wear sweaters again and pull my hair back when it's windy! So with further talking... it's time for my monthly favourites.
So this month it was all about skin care and makeup. The Porefessional - Benefit is the primer I've been using for the last couple of weeks. What I like about it is the size. Earlier I went on holidays so it's the perfect size to carry in the makeup bag. I don't own many primers that help me minimize the appearance of pores but this one from Benefit surely does. I've noticed that my pores aren't as visible as they were before using this primer.
I'm not quite a fan of drugstore moisturizers because of my really oily and acne skin. So for the last couple of years I've only been using a moisturizer that my dermatologist has recommend me. But I wanted to try a drugstore moisturizer. So I came across the Bebe Young Care cream for normal skin. It's great for medium dry skin as it doesn't leave an oily film on your face. The scent is really like this one smells of peach but I would prefer a bit a softer scent. But for a cheap drugstore cream this is really good!
I was in the market searching for a concealer and came across the Maybelline Super Stay 24H Concealer. I been using this product for about two months now and it lasted for quite a while. This concealer is quite cheap and it comes in a lipgloss jar, so you only need a bit of it. I used this concealer as a preparation to my Estée Lauder concealer to cancel out dark circles.
I mentioned this YSL Rouge Volupté Lipstick in Impetuous Beige 107 a while ago and it's still one of my favourite lipsticks for summer. I leave you the link here if you want to read the whole review.
The Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector is the BB cream I've used during my holidays. When I'm on holidays I tend to put less makeup on. But still I can't go without BB Cream. This BB cream is not too heavy but still gives colour and a bit of coverage. I'm looking forward to review it for you this month!
And last but not least the Lipo Sol Cleansing Lotion from Louis Widmer. My dermatologist recommend me this a while ago for my oily and acne-prone skin. It's a lovely cleanser that goes on my face gently and leaves it soft and really refreshed. I use it twice - in the morning and before I go to bed. I'm going to review this for you probably next month because I highly recommend this cleanser!
Ever tried one of these products? Let me know what your beauty and skin care favourites were! Have a nice day! xx
